Who are we?
The Saskatchewan Esports Association is a non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to promoting the growth of the esports industry in Saskatchewan.
Founded in 2022, our organization is the first and only one of its kind in the province, established to address the lack of advocates for the industry in Saskatchewan.
Our mission is to position Saskatchewan as a leader in Canadian esports by working with stakeholders to develop and support the growth of esports in the province. Through our advocacy efforts, we aim to create a thriving esports community that is inclusive, safe, and accessible to all.
What is Esports?
Esports refers to competitive video gaming, which has rapidly evolved from a few friends competing around an arcade cabinet to a global entertainment powerhouse.
The industry includes large-scale spectator events, professional teams, grassroots groups, and academic clubs at secondary and post-secondary levels, with scholarship opportunities available to students.
In 2022, the global esports industry was valued at an estimated $5 billion USD and continues to grow.
